I’ve been thinking a lot about my purpose lately, especially with the help of a group coaching program I’m in.
The number one reason why? I empower people to create space to follow their dreams. That’s why I developed my signature online course that follows my proven processes.
It wasn’t just to make more money or grow my own business, but to reach more people who I know that I can help.
I made it for YOU and for me. I know that I have so many tools and skills to share with people who are in the same spot that I was in a few years ago, and I genuinely want to offer that guidance and sense of community that I didn’t feel like I had in the beginning.
If you’re new around here, I’ll give you the overview of the process I followed to develop my online course:
I had an idea a couple years ago now. I knew that I wanted to reach and help more people with my signature strategies and techniques. That’s when I took my blog and social media channels super seriously, increasing content creation in order to start generating traffic. People began to respect and trust me as an expert. In a way, my blog and social media platforms were the minimum viable product (MVP) and people were “buying in” by reading.
When I was happy with my modest following and knew that people were engaged with my content, I started my research. I took a course about business even though I already ran a sustainable business! I studied my industry, compared similar products, and completed market research to validate my ideas. I interviewed approximately 40 people in this time and each was an hour long. My wall above my desk was COVERED in post it notes with the exact key words from my interviewees. PHEW!
Next, I developed the real MVPs and tested them. Captions That Connect was my first product I sold as a low investment guide and caption templates (it recently got an upgrade to become a masterclass!). Lots of people bought it! I started taking on more consulting, including long-term clients and drop-ins. I used pieces of my lesson content in these sessions to test how people learned from what I presented. What did they like best? Where could I improve? In this stage, I also started booking in-person workshops for testing in a group setting.
Through this testing phase, I gathered as much feedback as I could. I refined the lessons and exercises, invested in a brand refresh and website design (thanks, LJ Media House!), and continued pushing out valuable content across all channels.
Time to film: With my newly updated slides, I filmed for blocks of a few hours each over 3 days. It’s hard to talk that much in one sitting! I organized all the content into my hosting platform and started to prep the launch.
On the launch day, I made my first sales within minutes of the cart opening. DO YOU KNOW HOW COOL THAT FEELS?! Now I get to help even more people follow their dreams.

When you launch something, people take note. Seriously, try it. By launching my course, I accidentally also reached more 1:1 clients. My follower counts, website traffic, and email list have all grown over the last few months. After asking around, I learned this is an amazing byproduct of launching pretty much anything! A book, a podcast, a blog… any time you do something new it opens your business up to further potential. Neat, right?
Of course, I have big dreams for my business over the next 5 years and doing something this big was one of them. Growing my brand a little bit each day sets the foundation for that dream life I want in the long run. Going back to the intentional effort to act purposefully in my business, this was a big step for me.
To be concise: Creating a course helped me improve my digital marketing skills. Now I know SO MUCH MORE about the nitty gritty of email sequences, sales pages, email automation platforms, content creation, LAUNCHING, outsourcing to specialists, etc. and can pass that knowledge onto my clients. Before, launching my course, my specialty was strictly words and strategy, but now I know a thing or two about all the additional arms I normally passed off to collaborators. Tech headaches, for example.
Also, I typically worked with service-based businesses before this process, but since developing a product, I’ve learned more about this type of business as well and can apply that knowledge to clients who want to create similar products. Above everything, I always try to deliver more than expected with my clients and launching an online course definitely helped me do that.
New around here? The course in question is more than just a course. It’s massive! Client Attraction Academy teaches you how to sell your services on autopilot online with confidence using my proven process. Students follow the step-by-step roadmap to increase inbound leads that has worked for me and my clients. This self-paced course is perfect for solopreneurs, freelancers, and service-based businesses. You can learn all about it here.
Reflecting on why I do things has helped me become so intentional in every action I take. If you have a strong enough why, it will carry you through any challenge. So, what do you think? What’s your why? Leave it in the comments below.
