My month in review is back by popular demand! I wrote January’s reflections with the goal of accountability, but the number of page views that post saw was motivation to follow through again this month. Thank you so much to everyone reading along!
Can you believe that another month is over? I feel like 2018 is going to fly by before I accomplish everything on my list. It feels plain overwhelming at times. Just the other day I found myself wound up because I have too many things that I want to do!
For such a short month, so much happened! If you’ve been following along on my adventures, you probably heard all about our struggle with a snowstorm. Closed roads, 24 hours, and an avalanche later we were finally able to drive through the Alberta-British Columbia border to our weekend away in the Columbia Valley. Craft beer, blue skies, and an outdoor hot tub. We’re so lucky that this was the second weekend we took away within just a few weeks! I don’t think I’ll ever grow tired of Rocky Mountain views.
As for the blog, I’ve seen an exciting jump in numbers! A few shy of one thousand of you are following the snippets of stories I share over on Instagram, and page views on the blog doubled from last month. Have I thanked all of you for that yet?
More about the blog: For anyone who has signed up for my monthly mail, you will be receiving your first installment (finally) over the weekend! Slow and steady wins the race, right? I just wanted to make my letters to you absolutely perfect! Check your mail around 8am mountain time on Saturday!
Going forward, each monthly letter will follow a similar format. A few words from me to you, a few of my favourite resources from around the web, books and music and art I’m loving, and maybe a little motivation thrown into the mix. I wanted to make my monthly mail valuable to you, rather than being a recap of what I’ve been doing! If you haven’t signed up yet (you should immediately), you can fill out the form below.
Creativity was the focus of February, and it made this colder month a whole lot more fun. I took a lot of photos and wrote a lot of words. I read Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, which inspired a whole lot of thoughts about where we find inspiration. Although, I don’t think I believe her theory of inspiration as an autonomous force or a deity of sorts. Does anyone else want to weigh in on this one?!
I’ve decided to dedicate March to growth. Like I mentioned, I feel a little overwhelmed with the number of things I want to do! March will be the month I start crossing tasks off the list. Little by little I’ll be a little closer to where I want to be by the end of this year.
Explore more: try new recipes, test run new routines, indulge in art that’s different from my norm. New books, new music, new mediums. Leave your suggestions below!
Prioritize my health: sleep early, wake up early, work out, eat well. You know the drill.
Practice calm and prioritize stress. New words to live by: “Will it matter in 5 years? Even in 5 days?”
I want to hear from all of you. How was your month? What’s working and what are you working to change? What will March be all about? Let me know in the comments! I’m always here to chat.
