I may be a bit late to this since we’re at mid-March now, but I’ve been really wanting to give more of a glimpse into everything that can (and often does!) happen in the Jill Wise studio through a typical month.
February was an awesome example of how well rounded and balanced a month can be in both work and life.
I took time off and worked while traveling—living and playing on the West side of the country.
I worked strict part-time hours, which meant lots of time hanging out with my little guy.
And the projects we worked on this month ranged from consulting on lead magnets to defining brand positioning and writing conversion-focused, personality-rich website copy to group program launch planning. We did it all.
It’s honestly a lot, and I know that some people may be curious how that all breaks down. So here we are—I’ve found the time to explain, and this recap will live forever on the blog.
What are we working on this month? Here’s a snapshot of almost everything that was on the go… ALMOST because I’m writing this from memory (after the fact) during nap time because I only have so many hours available for work each day. I wouldn’t rush for a client deliverable, but when we’re talking about this blog… Crunch mode is okay because done is better than perfect. 🙃
So, the list…
✨ Brand messaging + website copy project for a coach + course creator. We started this mid-January, and finalized it by the end of February after 3 team members have added their special spin to it. Every project of this size has 2-4 sets of writerly (or editor-ly?) eyeballs on it so we can make sure that every single word is as close to perfection as possible. That means you don’t just get my strategic brain, but the team of writers who write like chameleons coming in with fresh ideas. I’m biased, but I think that we outdid ourselves with this one.
✨ Lead magnet creation for an e-commerce brand. One of our e-commerce clients also has a personal brand and extensive background experience related to the business that she founded and runs full-time now. Because of this perfect storm, we’re experimenting with a new style of lead magnet to leverage that personal brand with the goal of list growth for the products.
Pssst… I love love LOVE when our clients are open to *strategic* experimentation.
In the month of February, we researched, strategized, and outlined the lead magnet. By the end of the month, we got to work. A draft was delivered early March.
✨ Nurture sequence build for an e-commerce brand. This one is a fairly simple nurture sequence, but still super fun. Everything we do is fun though. 💃 It was a standard opt-in page, redirect thank you page, and a sequence of emails designed to connect with new subscribers in an authentic, on-brand way.
✨ Marketing consultations. Strategy is a huge part of what we do over here at JW HQ. I personally strategize with each of our clients on all the things coming up next. This month, those discussions included podcast re-launches, offer suite optimization, and more. I hosted some of these consults from my home office, some from my brother’s kitchen table because I was visiting with him, and some from a coffee shop downtown Kelowna, BC. One of the perks of being able to work from anywhere—you truly can work from anywhere with a wifi connection.
✨ Launch prep for a service provider + course creator. We started putting the finishing touches on the launch collateral for a program that I am very very VERY excited about. Some of you reading might even fit the bill for this when the doors open next month.
✨ A digital product build for a personal brand. This was a fun one that started at the end of last year and we wrapped up in February. We helped pull together a client’s first ever digital product. That included refining the digital product itself (a very cool + easy to use financial planning plug-and-play spreadsheet), helping outline the attached tutorial videos, creating the collateral (offer page, delivery sequence, etc.), and plugging in the pieces to get it ready to sell.
✨ Retainer client email marketing + blog content creation. On top of the projects booked each month, we strategize and write the email marketing and blog content/copy for our retainer clients, plus actual management as needed (pending their team structure, etc.). A range of service providers, course creators, and e-commerce clients trust us. 🥰 We’re whipping up a variety of words for them right now!
When you join our (virtual) party, we’re in this for the long haul…
If it weren’t obvious from the lengthy list, me and the team are extremely invested in each of our clients. Most clients start their journey with us focused on brand positioning, messaging, and implementation via conversion website copy (a crucial piece of your pipeline!). But once we have those foundations in place, it opens up a world of possibilities.
Want to grow your list? Let’s go.
Want to launch a new program? Time to chat strategy.
Want to build a digital product? The possibilities are endless.
I’m literally obsessed with all of our clients (because we only work with a certain type of kind and driven AF human being—sorry, not sorry). And that obsession shows.
You can learn more about what it looks like to work with the team here.
But just like that guy on the late-night infomercials… That’s not all! We also worked on The Biz Bar and the business as a whole through February.
Note the heading here! I consider the brand to be separate from me (hi, it’s me, Jill Wise 👋) this helps me compartmentalize and think more strategically when I’m able to separate myself (and my personal worth, etc.) from the business. This is actually something that I teach inside Conversion Class if you want to learn more about brand strategy and how to strategically position yourself too.
✨ Updates to the products in The Biz Bar. Okay this has been a long time coming! With baby B’s arrival, my plan to update the new branding through the shop got pushed back. BUT the good thing about doing this now, is that I’ve doubled this facelift with an update to the actual content itself.
For example, if you purchased the Plug-In Website Copy Template Library recently, you’ll not only notice that the wireframed copy templates match the new branding… But there’s actually more inside and they’re even more clear. We like clarity.
✨ Weekly YouTube videos (aka you can learn some cool stuff for free). My original goal was 2x weekly, but it turns out that requires more time than I have to give to filming right now. 😂 So we’ll try again later with that. At least for now, you can tune in on Mondays.
✨ Weekly emails to the VIP list. If you aren’t on the email list yet, you should be. I send good sh*t every single week. Sometimes a bit more than that. We’re talking about never-heard-before stories from the cutting room (home office?) floor, legitimate business advice, implement-this-afternoon kind of tips… That sort of thing. You can join the list via the bottom of this page…
✨ (Nearly) Weekly blog posts. One of my goals was to become a content machine in 2023. I have so much to share that I know is educational and helpful for other entrepreneurs, and I want to share that. And while I’m not perfect… Sometimes I skip a week… It’s a decent work in progress.
✨ A couple of social media posts each week. I hang out daily on Instagram Stories, but always try to get some good stuff on the feed 2-4 times a week. You can join the party over here.
And to top it all off, I actually lived and worked from the other side of the country for half of the month. S/o to the husband and pup holding down the fort at home and the team helping me get sh*t done from a different timezone. So that’s more fun to add to the fun. Have I said this is all super fun yet? Because it is.
That’s cool. I’m a creep sometimes too! If you read this list and are like “How the EFF are you doing this each month?” … I wonder the same. 🙃 But actually, if you want the real deep dive into how I structure my days and integrate running this business with full-time momming, you can download my schedule here.
Cool! Me and the team typically schedule 4-12 weeks in advance. Check out what we can do for you in the studio here. If you’re ready to go all-in, submit the form on our contact page to start the conversation.
Leave your info below to join. You'll be added to my email list, but can opt out at any time.
